Loads of spam

What is happening? I get a lot of spam through the server, yet when I
reply to one, it is filterd out.

What gives?

Uhm, can anybody confirm or deny that they are getting lots of spam from
this list. That way I know if I need to look at the problem at my side or
not.

I can confirm that spam is making it onto the list recently.  We are
working on remedying this, and hope to have it solved ASAP.

Is there any progress in this, as it is killing the list.
It can't be that hard to filter this. Look at the logfiles to where it
came from and kill off that point of entry.

Greetings,
  I suggest that they make posting to the list contingent on a single
successful build of an appliance.  This would be easy to do, just select
any of the pre-defined/template ones, then make no changes, and build
it.  Then they could post to the list.  This would make people have to
at least know how the basics work before they could ask questions, and
keep the spammers off the list.

From what  see in the spam, it is most likely one specific spambot. That
leads me to beleve there is either only one source or another way to
filter out this kind of spam.

It could well be somebodies machine by somebody who is extremely well
known with everything he does on Studio, yet used an infected machine once
to send a mail to this list.

The fact that it is going on now for so long AND no official feedback from
anybody towards the list makes me wonder how serious they are about this
and if people are actually working on it.

Our apologies - there are a couple of things beyond our team's direct
control. We are currently considering moving to another mailing list
which we have more direct control.
